Here's another member of the "GMA Cheated, Live with it" crowd

(UPDATED) Sabi ni Gekokujo sa Pinoyexchange:

I regret to say this, but they have made up their minds: the people would rather live with a stolen election than see another stolen EDSA.

Just because you said so? Just because her allies in congress used their superior numbers to kill GLORIAGATE, katulad noong 2004 canvassing, when they denied the opposition's request for a recount by more than 200 times and installed the fake president?

And what makes you think massive gov't-sponsored cheating cheating and dagdag bawas operations on a national scale will end if we let the fake president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and her COMELEC get away with it? There's still the 2007 "elections", no? And the cha-cha "referendum".

Saying, kasi the last time we had a credible and clean presidential election was in 1998.

Anyway, there are good Edsas and bad Edsas.

Good edsa - 1986, removed a corrupt dictator who stole 1986 elections.

Bad edsa - 2001
, blatant power grab that actually made the situation worse.

For me, hindi importante kung sino ang gusto kong pumalit. Ang importante ay kung sino ang iboboto ng mamamayan when we organize new presidential elections after GMA is ousted.

And all the current COMELEC commissioners must resign btw, kapag napaalis na si Arroyo.

UPDATE: More from Gekokujo:

here, however, there is none. I have spent the past few months in the trenches, my friend, and I have learned a bitter lesson: mere justice is not enough, it doesn't suffice that the evil be removed, a worthy alternative must also take its place. in 2001, the evil was removed, only to be replaced by an equal evil - the people simply do not want to see the same thing happen again today.

Ah, so we shouldn't remove Gloria because there's "no credible alternative"?

So siguro dapat hindi na rin nag-protesta sa FPJ noong buhay pa siya dahil he's no better than GMA (in fact, most civil society types think he's worse than the fake president). Dapat tinanggap na lang niya yung "pagkatalo" nya kahit na alam ng lahat na ninakaw ni Arroyo ang election? Ganun ba yon?

And from another PEx commenter Bleh, who is overly optimistic re using the impeachment option on GMA next year.

Look bleh, I have no problems with your effort to get people involved in contacting their congressmen about their impeachment votes or doing a signature campaign. we should exhaust all legal means to bring arroyo and her cohorts to justice. I have already done my part in contacting my own congressman re GLORIAGATE before AND after he voted to kill the impeachment.

But I'm very pessimistic re the chances that this will convince the pro-arroyo congressmen to change their minds for next year. If the impeachment killing happened before, it will happen again. Even if naunahan natin si Oliver Lozano sa pag-file ng impeach complaint next year, the pro-arroyo allies still have the numbers to kill this thing, sa committee at sa plenary.

So you say, let's vote these fckers of office in 2007. But what makes you think Arroyo and her corrupt COMELEC will allow her allies in Congress to lose the majority in both the House and the Senate sa 07 elections? Kasi hindi lang naman pera at favors (e.g. junkets, gov't positions for relatives, "hero's burial" for Marcos) ang ginamit ng Arroyo admin para makuha ang suporta ng mga iilan sa mga tongressman na yan eh. Another way to get their support is to promise them na they will not lose in 2007 no matter what happens, as long as they vote to kill impeachment.

So paulit-ulit yung cycle. If the pro-impeach bloc submits another impeachment complaint vs Arroyo, papatayin ulit yan ng mga kaalyado ni Arroyo. The GMA admin OTOH, with the help of her corrupt COMELEC dagdag bawas operators, DOJ, PNP, AFP at SC, will make sure na enough of her valuable ally/candidates in the Senate and House "will win" para hindi mawala ang majority position nila sa Congress.
