GLORIAGATE's Useful Idiots

-- Isn't the solution to the GLORIAGATE crisis obvious? NEW ELECTIONS. Matagal na ni Conrad sinasabi yan.

I've been saying the same thing too. Eto pa nga o, back in June 2005.

-- I agree with Dean Jorge Bocobo re Garcillano's location.

-- IBON Survey: 64% want GMA out, Performance rating drops to lowest at 74%

-- Here's one of Arroyo's Useful Idiots exposed.

And another one:

Apart from calling the bishops who led a prayer-rally procession “hypocrites” out to gain “earthly powers,” Gloria, through her spokesman, Toting Bunye, accused them of portraying themselves as victims of state violence with the intention of getting the Catholic bishops on their side and against Gloria.

But then again, Gloria knew she could rely on good old Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) president Davao Archbishop Capalla to support and protect her everytime.

And Capalla naturally did not fail Gloria. From Rome, he issued a statement saying he believes the police were just doing their job, even as he added he can't quite see the whole picture because he is so busy with the Bishops' Synod, not having even the time to watch the late-night news on TV.

That being the case, why then did he issue a statement saying the police were just doing their job?

Heh.

-- Ernesto Maceda:

To the point. Far Eastern University Law Prof. Adel Tamano, Harvard graduate and son of the late Sen. Mike Tamano, was very analytic and intelligent in his comments in a TV show hosted by Ces Drilon which also guested Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Angelo Reyes, Rep. Etta Rosales and National Capital Region Police Office Director Vidal Querol.

Tamano in his parting statement declared “The Constitution is superior to any law. The right to freedom speech and to freedom of assembly cannot be abridged.”

A no-permit, no-rally policy abridges the two basic rights of freedom of speech and freedom of assembly, he maintained.

Metropolitan Manila Development Authority Chairman Bayani Fernando has declared Edsa a no-rally zone. Mayor Lito Atienza has declared Mendiola a no-rally zone. Mayor Sonny Belmonte refuses to issue permits for rallies in Quezon City. Soon there will be more no- rally zones than freedom parks. That certainly violates the letter and intent of the Constitution.

For the nth time, GMA should be reminded that Edsa I which she commemorates annually and Edsa II which put her in MalacaƱang were the result of the exercise of the freedom of speech and freedom of assembly.

But that probably is what makes her so scared. That, plus the realization that she is guilty as charged.
