Trust Fidel Ramos -- NOT!!!

Sabi ni Tabako:

And the reason he's still supporting Arroyo now is because of "lack of alternatives."

Lack of alternatives

In his speech, Ramos qualified his support for Ms Arroyo, saying it is driven mainly by a lack of acceptable alternatives.

"My abiding concern has always been the national interest," he said.

And "Lack of alternatives?" Uhmmm... if we have new elections today to replace the fake president, guys like Bayani Fernando, Ping Lacson, Mar Roxas, Serge Osmena, Franklin Drilon, Richard Gordon and even Jose de Venecia can run, and whether we remain with the presidential system or shift to a parliamentary one, sila-sila pa rin ang tatakbo.

Are they really all "poor alternatives" to Mrs. Arroyo, like what FVR wants you to believe?

Or Maybe the reason why FVR (in his mind) thinks that there are "no credible alternatives" to GMA right now is because hindi pa pwedeng tumakbo si Ramos habang hindi pa na-amend ang constitution.

Ramos is a longtime proponent of the shift to a parliamentary form of government, but his advocacy was given fresh impetus after he was credited with saving the Arroyo administration from collapse in the wake of a mass resignation on July 8 of key Cabinet officials now known as the "Hyatt 10."

Ramos had suggested that Ms Arroyo make a "graceful exit" next year to make way for a parliamentary system of government.

A scheme earlier proposed by House Speaker Jose de Venecia Jr., a staunch Ramos ally, calls for Ms Arroyo to step down in favor of a prime minister by 2007. The President's term expires in 2010.

THEREFORE, THERE ARE "NO ALTERNATIVES" BECAUSE HINDI PA PWEDENG TUMAKBO SI FVR!

KAPAG TAPOS NANG PALITAN ANG KONSTITUTION, MAY ALTERNATIVES NA, DAHIL PWEDE NA SIYANG TUMAKBO!

SI FVR ANG "CREDIBLE ALTERNATIVE" NA HINAHANAP NG BAYAN!

AYOS!!!

Same old ramos. So predictable. Tried to amend the constitution back in 1997 with his PIRMA campaign (led by Philstar columnist Carmen Pedrosa) to prolong his stay in office, and now ganito pa rin ang gimmick niya, trying to HIJACK the oust GMA movement to put himself in power once again. tsk tsk.

As far as I'm concerned, hindi yung opposition na katulad nina Susan, Ping, Cory, Erap at Bro. Eddie at yung mga iba pang dinaya ni GMA ang mga "power-grabbers", kundi yung mga nasa paligid ni Mrs. Arroyo -- like FVR and JDV. Yan ang mga TUNAY na POWER GRABBERS!

One wants to run but is not allowed anymore, and the other wants to be president but can't win, so he wants to amend the consti and shift to a parliamentary form of government.
