Last minute roundup

Conrad de Quiros is upset that there's little outrage accompanying the rape case vs. the 6 US servicemen.

Ellen Tordesillas OTOH, is eagerly awaiting former budget secretary Emilia Boncodin's testimony.

Ping Lacson says Norberto Gonzales is leading the drive to abolish the senate.

TIME to get even.

After being "released" from Senate "detention," national security adviser Norberto Gonzales has reportedly launched a smear campaign to support moves to abolish the Senate, Sen. Panfilo Lacson said yesterday.

Lacson said he received reports that Gonzales, who returned to work yesterday, was in Cebu "and he was orchestrating the formation of several groups to call for the ouster" of senators.

"They are holding seminars, bi-monthly seminars, with some non-government organizations in Cebu… to be led by Mayor Tomas OsmeƱa," he said.

He expressed suspicion that the P5 billion fund earmarked for government’s "Kilos Asenso" program would be used to bankroll rallies and demonstrations supporting the move to abolish the Senate.

Bad news from BIR:

Minor point: The article would have been clearer if it mentioned what fraction of the 80 M should be paying income tax.
