Don’t you notice the eerie silence emanating from the Government of the Republic of the Philippines?
An eerie silence in relation to the asylum case of former Agriculture undersecretary Jocelyn Bolante?
The same Bolante who, according to a report from the Commission on Audit and from the investigation of the Senate of the Philippines, was the central character in the misuse of over P700 million worth of taxpayers’ money?
Money meant to buy fertilizers for farmers, which ended up fertilizing the soil for an electoral victory in 2004. An electoral victory, mind you, tainted further by tape recordings of voices eerily similar to those of the President of the Philippines herself and a notorious Comelec operator.
Yeah, bakit nga tahimik ng Arroyo admin tungkol dito? And will we see the last of Bolante-style money diversion tricks in the 2007 elections?
