The 2006 French Film Festival in Manila

UPDATE: Btw, ngayon ko lang napansin ito. Kick ass french director/writer/producer Luc Besson (Leon, La Femme Nikita, The Fifth Element) is coming to town to show "Angel-A", his first film since 1999's "The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc" on June 15. Ang problema lang nga, hindi naka-lista ang film niya sa June 15 skeds sa Shangri-la.

So ang tanong eh, saan ito ipapalabas, at anong oras?

From Clickthecity:

11th French Film Festival

Cinema is a passion shared by the French and the Filipinos.

In ten years, the French Film Festival has provided the Filipino cinéphiles a panorama of contemporary films made by some of today's most prominent French Directors, including Amélie by Jean-Peirre Jeunet and 8 Femmes by François Ozon. At the same time, the festival has been a showcase of the talent of Filipino filmmakers as it has featured a selection of Filipino productions that have been participated and recognized in prestigious International Film events in France, particularly the Clermont-Ferrand and the Cannes Film Festivals.

True to its tradition, the 11th French Film Festival will offer viewers a selection French movies straight from the theaters of Paris and the prestigious film festival of Cannes. Moreover, it will provide an opportunity for film professionals, directors, producers and enthusiasts to meet French film Directors through a series of events : Opening Ceremony and Celebrities' Night on June 8., Motorcade with screening of Motorbike Race on Shangri-La Streetscape, June 9, Director's Cut Workshop at the CCP with French Director Pierre Schoendoerffer, June 10., Short Film Workshop in partnership with the International Short Film Festival of Clermont-Ferrand, June 13 to 23., Premiere Screening of Luc Besson's Angel-A, in the presence of the Director, June 15. French Film Festival Goes to Cebu, June 23 to 25.

thanks for the tip re waiting for godot in tagalog, ellen.

re schoendoerffer, ito ang sabi sa website ng french film festival.

"The 11th French Film Festival regrets to inform its loyal audience that due to unavailability with English subtitles, the announced opening film “Là Haut” (Above the Clouds) will not be shown in the festival. Unfortunately, the visit in Manila of the French Director, Pierre Schoendoerffer, had to be cancelled."

"safe pasage", "les enfants du paradis" and the film with north african actors, L’Esquive are the ones to watch, IMO.
