Arroyo's tough talk meant to impress foreign media and audience

Gloria Macapagal Arroyo started talking tough again yesterday when she accused the Senate of acting like a "kangaroo court," and her Executive Order 464 was meant to stop the "destabilizers" from "grabbing power".

For the first time since the issuance of the controversial Executive Order (EO) 464 that caused a rift between the executive and the legislative, President Arroyo yesterday broke her silence and directly accused the Senate as a “kangaroo court'' trying to grab power from her administration.

The Chief Executive, in her speech at the eighth anniversary of the Kaanak 1896 Foundation in MalacaƱang, said since the impeachment complaints and the allegedly planned “people power” uprising against her administration did not materialize, her political enemies are now using the Senate as a venue to oust her through a series of legislative hearings, which according to her, are “in aid of destabilization” rather than “in aid of legislation.”

Tee hee. This is hilarious. Most Filipinos probably will read this in the papers and laugh at Arroyo's ridiculous claims.

But -- this Arroyo outburst was not really meant for the domestic consumption. It was aimed more at the less knowledgable foreign press and audience, to show the world that she is "politically stronger" today.

Read this too from Malaya about GMA's fight with her admin's "destabilizers" here.

Reklamo ka nang reklamo ka tungkol sa Gloriagate, but on Pinoy top blogs, your blog rose in the ranks by over 80 points in ONE day.

That only means one thing, you clicked on your own site to increase your numbers. MANDARAYA KA RIN.

Hypocrito ka talaga.

Tumahimik ka nga. Shaddap na!
