Daily GLORIAGATE: More on Julius Babao and the missing terrorist

-- The Julius Babao affair and the missing terrorist:

A possibly very important terrorist has gone missing from under Manila's custody. Again. Tyrone "Dawud" Santos has allegedly been "with" the mastermind of the 2002 Bali Bombing: Dulmatin, with a $10 million price tag on his head. Probably also involved in last months Bali-II bombing as well.

Read the whole thing.

Abante-Tonite: Sa pagdawit kay Julius Babao: Terror bill lalo pang lumabo

-- GMA allies nagsisisi na sa EVAT. Sinabi ko na ito dati, and I'll say it again: Walang karapatan na magtaas ng buwis ang illegitimate administration na to. No right at all. And we should NOT be paying any taxes until this the fake president steps down.

-- Tribune dares Injustice secretary Raul Gonzales to resign if "exit plan" report is true

If the Justice chief, Raul Gonzalez, is true to his word, the Tribune expects not only an apology from him, but also his resignation from the Arroyo government, as he vowed to do if the paper's report on the exit plans of Gloria Arroyo is true.

This was his reaction to the report published by the Tribune Tuesday disclosing that exit plans for Gloria and her regime have been discussed.

The Tribune takes up Gonzalez's dare while disclosing Wednesday, in detail, the exit plans discussed during a separate security situationer meeting where Gloria was present, as the brief's notations showed.

What Tribune proved, by taking up Gonzalez' dare, was that the paper does not manufacture stories, nor tells lies, unlike Malacañang and the Cabinet. It relies on sources, yes, but it also relies on documents for its stories.

Yet for Malacañang and Cabinet members such as Gonzalez, even when the newspaper story is well-documented, they quickly brand the Tribune as “part of the destabilization plot” against Gloria Arroyo.

If the report is the basis of Gonzalez's charge of the Tribune being part of the destabilization plot against the Arroyo regime, then it is obviously Gloria and her security aides who are destabilizing themselves, since the documents that showed the exit options for Gloria obtained by the Tribune came from Malacañang. Why they want this report on her exit plans kept secret is understandable, but to brand a newspaper a destabilizer for printing that which has been taken up and discussed in a security briefing is foul. The Palace — especially Gonzalez, a Justice secretary — has no right to accuse anyone of destabilization without an iota of evidence.

It is logical, given the worse political and economic situation the Arroyo administration faces today, for Malacañang to take into consideration, exit options. It makes good sense for Gloria Arroyo and her security aides to prepare for the worst.

Gonzalez himself, having been found out by the media to have prepared a draft for emergency rule that included a takeover of vital private industries with public interest, claimed that he prepared this in the event Gloria asked his legal opinion on declaring emergency rule. While he claimed that this was not ordered by Gloria for him to do, he also mentioned that preparing a draft was necessary given the economic deterioration stemming from high prices of goods and services, along with the expanded value-added tax implementation.

If Gonzalez believes that the Tribune's report on the exit plans discussed is part of the destabilization plan, then certainly, his draft for emergency rule should fall under the same category. He is then as much a destabilizer — if not more so, than the newspaper he accuses.

Why then should he go ballistic when a newspaper such as the Tribune publishes the political security situationer whose discussions speak of the exit plans of Gloria, since exit options for her and her government can hardly be discounted, given the volatile political and economic situation?

The answer is simple: They have been found out, and this is what unnerves them, since their propaganda is geared toward Gloria's refusal to leave Malacañang.

As stated in the report, Gloria's exit options include her resignation, her leave of office, the establishment of a national government of solidarity where power-sharing is mentioned, creeping governance and revolt from within.

That these options are being taken seriously by Gloria and her aides can be gleaned from yet another notation stating that Gloria will be constantly updating and shaping her exit options, which is logical, as the situation is much too volatile for Gloria to merely stick to one exit option.

What disturbs Malacañang is not the fact that exit scenarios have been and are being discussed, but that these have been leaked to a newspaper that printed the report.

For Gloria and her aides, such a leakage may be viewed as putting them in a position of weakness with the Palace propaganda of her resolve to stay on going to naught.

As for the Palace propaganda that Gloria is being strongly supported by the US government, even that has come off as a lie, as she and her aides have acknowledged in the same briefing paper notations, that there is “poor acceptability of GMA in the Bush administration” and that Gloria has become “a high risk for US under PGMA.”

Like we said earlier, we at the Tribune have substantiated our report. It is now time for the Justice chief to keep his word and resign.

The Tribune will not take a “noted” answer from him.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!!!
