GMA could resign at any moment now, with most Filipinos still not having heard the contents of the GLORIAGATE tapes. Only those with internet access or copies of the GLORIAGATE CD have.
I think that's nuts.
They only have an idea of what the tapes were about, but a significant majority of them neither have listened to the actual Gloria-Garci conversations or read the transcripts of the tapes.
I blame mainstream media (GMA7, ABS-CBN, PDI, PHILSTAR) for refusing to verify, play and analyze the tapes contents for their viewers and listeners. What a major disservice to the public.
Ang problema dito kasi... kung biglaan na lang nag-resign si Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, some Filipinos might still question her move because hindi nila narinig yung actual na usapan tungkol sa dayaan at kidnapping.
Sad.

Itong GMA 7 at ABS-CBN, kayang magpadala ng reporter sa ibang bansa para i-cover ang kahit walang-kuwentang balita, pero pagdating sa GMA tapes, wala silang kiber. Asan na ang 'Di namin kayo tatantanan" ni Mike Enriquez? Ang kaya lang niyang imbisitgahan, mga pipitsuging pulitiko, mga abnormal, o dili kaya ay mga sinasapian daw ng masamang ispiritu. Ang inihi-headline, mga away ng lasing o bugbugan ng magkakapit-bahay. Sa halip na i-focus ang talakayan sa kung ano ang tunay na isyu tungkol sa pandaraya ng taong-bayan, mga non-sequiturs at panlilito sa taong-bayan ang binibigyan ng mahabang espasyo sa kanilang mga programa. At puwede ba, tigilan na nila ang pag-eere ng mga Korean tele-novela pag prime time. Wala na ba silang maipalabas na programa na gawa sa atin na may kalidad at moral values? Puro na lang ba kayo mukhang pera?
It's interesting that the mainstream media had no problems playing the "wiretapped" chavit tape, even though chavit claims that he has not authenticated the tape yet. Ipinarinig yung tape sa GMA7 kahapon.
But pagdating naman sa Gloriagate tape, ayaw o reluctant ang mainstream media na i-play ito -- making excuses re the tapes being wiretapped and "not verified" by experts.
Why the double standard, Mainstream media?
