JUSTICE Secretary Raul Gonzalez yesterday lectured President Corazon Aquino on how she can better spend her time instead of calling for President Arroyo to resign to end the current political crisis.
Aquino renewed her call for Arroyo to quit last Monday during a visit to the De La Salle University’s Manila campus. She first made the call in a televised press conference three days earlier.
Gonzalez earlier said Aquino is still a force to reckon with because of her stature as former leader and that her calls for the sitting President to resign dealt the administration a big blow.
But in a press briefing, he asked her to stop meddling in the current crisis and to mind the affairs of her own family which, he said, has not been untainted by scandal.
Gonzalez said Aquino should "just take care of her daughter," apparently referring to actress-TV host Kris Aquino whose love affairs have been conducted in full public view and who has herself admitted to being her mother’s biggest cross.
"She (Aquino) should first take care of her daughter. It appears that she is assuming that her voice alone can change this country," Gonzalez said.
Uh... isn't Kris like 30+ years old na? Kailangan pa ba nya ng parental supervision?
