As if yung Constitution ang dahilan kung bakit may dayaan sa 2004 Presidential elections.
As if si Gloria Macapagal Arroyo ay biktima lang ng isang "flawed" na Consitution.
IT'S NOT GMA'S FAULT, IT'S THE SYSTEM'S FAULT!!!
Can you imagine Bush or his people getting away with this line of reasoning kung nahuli siyang nandaya sa US election by saying:
"DON'T BLAME ME! BLAME THE SYSTEM! I DON'T NEED TO STEP DOWN! LET'S JUST AMEND THE CONSTITUTION!"
Can you imagine "civil society" or the RP mainstream media letting Erap get away with that bogus line and allowing him to shift the blame? I don't think so.
(Maybe Viktor Yanukovych of Ukraine should have "blamed the Constitution" instead of having another election rerun against Yushchenko, no? It would have bought him some time vs. the "Orange Revolution")
Isa pang example ay ganito: nahuli ka na nandaya sa isang exam. tapos, instead of admitting guilt and taking the punishment, ang sinabi mo ay:
"kasalanan yan ng eskwelahan, kasalanan yan ng teacher, kasalanan yan ng libro, PALITAN SILANG LAHAT!!!"
The problem here is not the constitution, but Arroyo and her allies in Congress who continue to stonewall any credible investigation.
Kahit na palitan mo ang constitution at mag-shift tayo sa parliamentary system, wala ring mangyayari kung puro corrupt ang namumuno sa atin.
The constitution has the solution for every problem. Ang problema lang nga is when one group chooses not to follow the constitution (impeachment) to oust a sitting president via people power.
Yan ang nangyari noong 2001, when Arroyo and the civil society groups used unconstitutional means (Edsa Dos) to remove Estrada.
Hindi nila na-realize na nakagawa sila ng precedent sa kilos nilang yan.
Anyways, I think this talk of "amending the constitution" is just a diversion concocted by Arroyo's allies to muddle the issue even further.
