UNEMPLOYMENT in the second quarter of this year has reached a record of 20.3 percent or up by 3.8 percent from the first quarter figure of 16.5 percent, a nationwide Social Weather Stations survey reported yesterday.
The survey conducted from May 14 to 23 and covering 1,200 respondents also showed unemployment is more prevalent in women (30 percent) and among the younger labor force (53.5 percent) or those aged between 18 and 24.
The survey also showed that 54 percent of adult women and 15 percent of the adult men do not have jobs.
