Hey Mainstream Media, listen up!

Why don't all the big media outlets like PDI, GMA7, ABS-CBN, PHILSTAR, and Manila Bulletin pool their resources/money together and have Samuel Ong's tapes verified sa isang credible na third party expert overseas (preferably the FBI), para matapos na ito once and for all -- since we have conflicting results from the admin and opposition's authentication efforts and the public doesn't know which side to believe.

What do you say? Let's end this na once and for all. I want to see you guys in the mainstream media do your jobs seriously on GLORIAGATE for once and tell us the truth na about the tapes.

P.S. At isa pang request, GMA7 and ABS-CBN should start playing the disputed parts of the tape on their news programs and talk shows and have their experts analyze the tape, para ma-inform ang publiko kung totoo ang sinasabi ni Mike Defensor o hindi? It's long overdue na eh.

UPDATE: Nap agrees:

If one man can recognize the cheating words uttered by Gloria Macapagal while talking on the phone to Comelec official Garcillano, so can the rest of the country and even the whole world. The one major reason Gloria's allies are trying to suppress this evidence is because the conversation itself is the smoking gun which even Gloria herself and her lawyer have admitted to have taken place.

Yes, enough of the hype and technicalities. Every Filipino has the right to hear what their alleged president had to say in that tape, let the people be the judge of her culpability or innocence.

AMEN!

media can't ask a government agency, e.g. the fbi or scotland yard, to authenticate anything. that requires a government to government effort, for example, nbi or dfa doing the asking.

a media consortium to authenticate the tapes wouldnt be any different from ping spending his own cash or even defensor doing the same thing. what's needed is unimpeachable credibility in analysis, and that can only come from a foreign government entity.

that's a shame. :(

nah. kasi mas may tiwala ang tao sa GMA7, ABS-CBN, at PDI eh kaysa sa opposition at administration. pro-arroyos don't trust the opposition's findings, and those who wanted GMA to resign don't trust the administration's findings either -- but they'll trust GMA7 and ABS-CBN.

Big media like GMA7, ABS-CBN, and your paper PDI are our only hope. most see them as a non-partisan "referee" on the GLORIAGATE issue.

They need to get their act together on GLORIAGATE fast and dig out the truth for us na. Serbisyong publiko nila yan.

Unfortunately, many in mainstream media are paid puppies. The amounts are mind blogging.

this is about... saan ba sila kikita? sa pagpapalabas ng katutuhanan o sa pagtatago ng katotohanan?

as far as it is going right now, both GMA7, and ABS-CBN are benefiting in making tago the katotohanan.

kc business nila ang manatili si GMA. gets nyo???

it's also possible na naipa-authenticate na nila yung tapes overseas, but for some reason, ayaw nilang i-release ang findings nila sa publiko... ;)
