Brig. Gen. Victor Corpus, chief of the Armed Forces' Civil Relations Service, is retiring from the service today.Good Riddance!
Corpus stirred controversy in 2001 when he linked Sen. Panfilo Lacson to drug trafficking and kidnapping. He claimed Lacson accumulated millions of dollars from alleged illegal activities and were stashed in foreign banks.
Corpus faced a Senate inquiry in connection with his exposé but was not able to substantiate his allegations.
Lucero glossed over this. "The Armed Forces is out insofar as his (Corpus') accusations against one politician. What we are looking at is his contribution to the overall mission of the Armed Forces."
