E-Mandirigma starts e-campaign to convince solons to sign impeach complaint

Reminder, when you are sending your text message or letter to always be polite. And go easy on Teddy Locsin too, based on his votes in the Justice committee. :D

My fellow e-Mandirigmas,

Last night, the Congress Committee on Justice (without the presence of the opposition) voted to declare that the Impeachment Complaint filed by Lozano and endorsed by Marcoleta was INSUFFICIENT in substance by a vote of 49 in favor, 1 opposed, and 2 abstained.

What a shameful day for our country!

Unless the majority pulls another trick and advance the schedule, the Committee will submit their report to the plenary for voting on Monday, September 5. And here, 79 votes are required to overturn the Committee report and send it to the Senate for trial.

Unofficially, there are 73 congressmen who have committed to endorse the complaint to the Senate. We need 6 more to make it happen.

In the remaining days prior to the plenary vote, it is up to us to convince at least 6 more Congressmen to join the 73.

We start our intensive campaign to demand from our Congressmen to let the truth out.

I attach an email directory of selected Congressmen whom we think can still be swayed by reason and appeal to heroism. Some of them may have already committed to sign (this is not an updated list), but what is important is they know where we stand on this issue. I suggest that you appeal to their sense of duty and heroism, and always be respectful in crafting your message. Here is a suggested text that you can use:

On Monday, our nation once again is at a crossroads that will lead us to path of perdition or the path of morality. It will depend on how you, our Representative, will cast your vote.

We believe the issues are as clear as black and white. And we appeal with utmost urgency that you at least give truth a chance to be heard by sending the Impeachment Complaint to the senate with your signature.

This is a time for sacrifice and heroism. The future of our children is at stake.

Starting today, let's send them a text message every hour on the hour. Here's a suggested SMS txt message:

"BE OUR HERO 2DAY. GIV TRUTH A CHANCE. SEND D COMPLAINT 2 D SENATE. MAY GOD GIV U D COURAGE 2 DO D RIGHT THING."

In both the email message and the text message, it's much better if you personalize it, and always be polite in your tone. Also, go easy on Locsin in the text campaign... based on his votes in the Justice Committee, he will most probably join the 79 at the plenary.
