A captain in the Philippine Army who testified before the Senate about the administration's use of jueteng money as payoff to poll officials to ensure the victory of President Arroyo in the presidential elections last year yesterday cried harassment over having been unceremoniously evicted from his quarters inside the Armed Forces of the Philippines' (AFP) main headquarters in Camp Aguinaldo.
“Somebody has (taken over) my condo unit and it was forcibly opened. My things were placed under the custody of the Logcom (military Logistics Command). This is clear harassment,” Capt. Marlon Mendoza said.
The military officer added he found out that his quarters inside Camp Aguinaldo had been forcibly opened when his wife went there last Wednesday afternoon to get some of their belongings.
He said his wife told him that upon arrival at the place she was surprised to see members of the military police, backed by a six-by-six truck, removing their belongings from inside his quarters.
The quarters were awarded to Mendoza by the government as it usually provides such to active military officers.
Mendoza expressed disgust over his eviction from his unit at the 4th floor of the Company Grade Officers Condo which was done without him being notified.
I hope the opposition will raise hell over the deplorable treatment Capt. Mendoza got from the Arroyo admin. Panggaganti ito ng admin sa mga whistleblowers, plain and simple.
