From Malaya:
Purisima fined P20,000 for contempt
THE Supreme Court yesterday cited for indirect contempt former Finance Secretary Cesar Purisima for allegedly saying that MalacaƱang influenced or pressured the high court into issuing a temporary restraining order on the implementation of the EVAT law on July 1.
The SC yesterday upheld the constitutionality of RA 9337.
"Purisima is found guilty of indirect contempt and is ordered to pay a fine of P20,000 to be paid within 10 days from the time of finality of the decision," the en banc court said.
If you'll recall, they also suspended Alan Paguia's right to practice law for having the gall to question the constitutionality of the SC's move to "legitimize" the Arroyo takeover in 2001.
But anyways, biased talaga ang Davide SC. And if the Supreme Court has a problem with my statement, then come and get me, Hilarious Davide.
